What does "Like"ing someone's post on Facebook means to you?
I have always been out of touch with the social media world. When Facebook came out I created a profile, but I never really paid that much attention to it. For me Facebook was this thing that I go on when I was bored. However, as time went on the more frequent I would get on Facebook I would notice that people had sent me friend request, and they had like my photos! People realize that there are millions of people in the world and on Facebook, but when someone takes the time to like your photo it makes you feel like you feel significant, and well "liked" by others.

Does knowing that others "Like" what you "Like" influence you?  I think so because if you know that others like what you like then you feel sort of connected to these people. Having a connection with people results in someone understanding where you come from, which I believe can allow friendships to be formed.

Explain the concept of the "influencer."

Oreo question: Oreo was able to advertise an image that spoke volumes to a large audience. That being those who were in favor of gay marriage. They advertised this image all over social media, which allowed them to share their image with millions of people. In return one million people liked this image. This allowed Oreo to advertise its product and connect one million potential costumers on a emotional level. This brought in at least a million more customers for the Oreo company.

How do companies use social media to advertise? Companies can post products on social media outlets, which will result in likes or dislikes. If a product is liked by several thousands or even millions of people then they have just connected with several thousand or millions of potential customers. They also will allow high profiled users on social media to share their products for them. If say a high profiled user likes or follows several different clothing brands then all of the followers that follow this high profiled user will be able to see what brands he/she likes. In return this allows the brand to be advertised through social media users.

How are marketers building "brand trust" online? By the number of likes that a brand is able to obtain. If a brand has several million likes then they have had several million people s take the time to basically say that they like this brand. So from there if someone is on social media and sees that Oreos got one million likes on their post then that person may be convinced to like the product also because so many people have related the brand with a positive image a "like."

How do  celebrities : fame by association. Several celebrities will partner with brands to create a campaign like the one that Beyonce did with Pepsi. Where fans or non fans could send pepsi their selfie and could included in the intro video during Beyonce's half time performance at the super bowl. This allows people to possible have a chance to connect with their celebrities idols, which in return raises brand awareness and potential customers.

What is Corporate Sponsorship? When companies pay to be associated with certain events or people.

Are marketers being transparent or invisible? No

How is the Hunger Games plot like advertising? That is a due or die. Everyone wants to have as many likes like in the hunger games. The more likes that you have then the more likely you are to live in relation to the Hunger Games, but in the social media world the more likes the longer you will stay relevant and make money.
